What a profound short little paragraph that says it all!
"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.  What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.  When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the
end of any nation . You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

America at the crossroads

For those not paying close attention, we are a society at the proverbial crossroads. The 234-year-old experiment in self-governance is either ending or will be reborn a second time. Do we wish to be a centrally planned, global, citizen-based society with limited freedom and lowered standard of living, or do we want to return to being a free, prosperous and vibrant society?

America is the only society on the planet founded on the idea that our rights come from God, not man, they are inalienable, and they exist prior to the formation of government. The states created our republican, federal form of government solely to protect our existing rights, not to provide for us, create new rights, or to redistribute and control our resources for us. This was the Founders' intent.

If we Americans do not make an honest, conscious choice as to what type of society we want to live in, then we will soon be just another centrally controlled, miserable society.

I believe the true reason for the emergence, growth and power of the tea party and 9.12 grass-roots movement, is we are making the societal choice for a return to a free republic, with the bounds placed on the government, not the people. We should rather deal with the problems associated with personal liberty than those of government tyranny. As true citizens, we must engage in our institutions once again and remain ever vigilant. It is the eternal price of freedom. The choice is ours.

Volusia group pushes for involvement

Ray Sanchez, of Ormond Beach, is the founder of the Volusia 912 Project.

Americans have an opportunity to make their voices heard at the ballot boxes. The Volusia 912 Project has been volunteering thousands of hours to help find good candidates at every level of government. Our fellow citizens have gathered since March 2009 to learn more about government, create candidate forums, work our local precincts and use the great mechanism our founding fathers gave us in order to secure the blessings of liberty. At the request of our fellow citizens, we have compiled a guide for this year's primaries at www.volusia912.org.

The list honors some candidates with "preferred" status, and others with "approved." We're hoping our work is recognized as the beginning of renewed citizen involvement in electing virtuous leaders.

Decades of work will be necessary to filter out the culture of corruption throughout our political spectrum, but, at least, this is a start.

The importance of voting cannot be overstated. On all levels of government, the American people need to become engaged. At Volusia 912, our original focus was on the national level. The course Congress and the White House have set for this nation should shake every American to the core. While disregarding the voice of the American people and the Constitution, this Congress has compromised our form of government. Our president, who should guard against bad legislation, is part and parcel of the same agenda.

They have capitulated to socialist agendas and radical ideologies. We have apathetically stood by. We continue to allow ourselves to be divided by party affiliation, race, gender and class. Their political games and use of media-driven propaganda are an insult to honest Americans.

Our elected officials have steered so far from the fundamentals of Americanism that the forces of tyranny are at hand. Unfortunately, this malaise is not restricted to our federal government. Our local and state governments have been infected as well.

If anyone out there is really paying attention, he or she will know this isn't just hyperbole or partisan rhetoric. Our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are being ignored. This is not about parties, nor about the color of the president's skin. This has been slowly happening for decades, and is now being accelerated in Washington by politicians of all colors. Under the name of progressivism, we have allowed our local, state and federal governments to confiscate the wealth, productivity and incentives of individuals in America.

This is about the essential ingredients missing in our republic right now. Virtue and knowledge are no longer revered and respected, but rather mocked and ridiculed.

Only a spiritual revival of American values can strengthen our political will. Wake up, America! Remember "In God We Trust." If we unite, educate and take action, we can restore our republic.

Rejecting progressivism

    * Letters to the Editor Daytona Beach News-Journal

As a proud member of the grass-roots conservative movement I hereby re-declare independence from tyranny. The tyranny of the progressive assault on American culture and history. Our nation has allowed the progressive agenda, through political correctness, the fallacy of multiculturalism and the largesse of government to infiltrate every aspect of our society. It will not be allowed any more.

In the past year, constitutional conservatives have organized in every county in the nation, including many groups right here in Volusia County and all of Central Florida, and our numbers are growing daily.

The destructive progressive tide has been halted, as seen in recent elections and primaries. The sea change is coming in Florida's August primaries and November's general election. Pay close attention as the enemies of liberty, foreign and domestic, begin to panic and accelerate their destructive plans, as they know time is not on their side any more. The light of freedom is now shining on the darkness of their true agenda.

It is not about Democrat versus Republican any more. It is about liberty versus tyranny. The history of the world is tyranny; the history of America is not. America is a radical departure from history, and we have proven the success of individual responsibility, personal-property rights and limited government, despite what the progressives say. Our movement will not allow this experiment in self-government to perish at the hands of progressives and their allies.

True hope is knowing tomorrow holds endless possibilities, even failure, because you are free. False hope is knowing tomorrow brings empty promises from an elitist government that purports to save us all from ourselves. Re-declare your independence and stand up for our great American culture and history.

I am not racist; I am not violent. It is simply my duty to no longer be silent!

Volusia 9-12 Project: Restoring the republic
By MARIE HINCKLEY
COMMUNITY VOICE

We are a group of patriotic Americans who have come together with a common goal. Like most in our country, as our attention focused on the trillion dollar debt incurred during the latter part of the Bush administration, we began watching what exactly was going on with our government. It became readily apparent that our government is out of control and that common sense and money sense are seriously lacking. Our goal is to restore our Republic to the Constitutional values upon which it was founded.

If you feel let down by your government, you are not alone. We are seeing the checks and balances of our Constitution now ignored. The Constitution was written with brilliance and divine guidance over 200 years ago and has kept us in good stead throughout. It has provided us with freedoms unparalleled by other nations. Indeed, our country has been the epitome of humanitarianism throughout the decades and the last bastion of freedom in the eyes of the world. Other countries are watching us with trepidation. If the United States cannot succeed, how can they?

We are presently in the Middle East helping the fight for freedoms and a form of government that we, ourselves, are losing. We see this administration and Congress ignoring the very rules of the Constitution, intervening with the Supreme Court's decisions and spending to the point of near bankruptcy. Bankruptcy will completely devalue our dollar in the world and make us a third world country.

So, those with similar feelings have united. We work very hard in our attempt to influence change. We write letters to members of Congress; we petition; we make phone calls; we march; and we protest. We welcome like-minded individuals to help in our goal of saving the America that we know and love. We are nonpartisan, nonracial, and strive for good taste and moderation in our efforts. Political parties are not an issue; the question is never asked as to party affiliation. We just want true Americans. Remember that our gifted forefathers warned us that we must remain vigilant of excess power, corruption and greed. It appears that only the people are remembering to be watchdogs. Most of the media have failed in that regard. Therefore, it is up to us; "we the people" are the Fourth Estate of the checks and balances. It is our duty.

It is time for all to get off the fence. Get on one side or the other, but join the fight you believe in. If you are of the mind that you want us to remain Americans with all our freedoms intact, consider joining our group to help in our struggle. Staying on the fence is no longer an option. We have to look at ourselves, live with ourselves and know that we fought as hard as we know how, imbued with the strong perseverance, dedication, patriotism and love of country as our soldiers at war. More than that, we have to be able to look our children in the eye and let them know that we did our best to keep their country safe for them.

We belong to the 9-12 Project, which represents the American spirit the day after Sept. 11 when we all came together, putting aside partisan politics, to support each other and our country in time of crisis. The 9-12 Project also encompasses nine principles and twelve values, which can be found at www.Volusia912.org.

posted Aug., 2009...

A few weeks ago my husband and I were at a restaurant with a group from our church.  During the dinner, one of the group told us she had contacted her senators and representatives about her concerns regarding the "health care reform".  I was impressed!  This is something anyone can and should do, and I too contacted my senators and representative with a list of concerns.  Don't sit back and think you can't affect the actions in Washington--you can!  Every letter and call represents 20 others who may agree with you but don't do anything about it.
My husband went a step further--he's made his own bumper stickers which say "Don't Re-elect Anyone" and is on his second printing because he gives them away when asked.  We need term limits!  This would help rout out the "congressman-for-life" attitude we have in this country. Let's get together and solve this national problem by voicing our concerns over and over.  I'm doing it!

545 PEOPLE - politicians vs us
By Charlie Reese, journalist for 49 years.

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.
I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.
The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party.
She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.

If the Army and Marines are in IRAQ, it's because they want them in IRAQ.

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible.

They and they alone, have the power.

They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

To:  ABC NEWS
Today you just lost a viewer.  Your adulation for Obama would be ludicrous if it weren't so dangerous.  I hold you responsible for the ignorance of those people who come home after work and switch on ABC news to find what's happening in this country.  You accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative about our president.  Your journalism teachers must be rolling in their graves.  Journalism in the United States died this year.  You do NOT present the facts.  You'll be forever remembered, however, for helping Obama take this country straight into socialism and for being an Obama fan first, news forecaster second, and lastly - an American citizen .  I consider you a collaborator in the effort to destroy this country by becoming Obama's news station and not presenting the truth of the news.
