Rejecting progressivism By TOM GION, Ormond Beach July 12, 2010 12:05 AM Posted in:
* Letters to the Editor Daytona Beach News-Journal
As a proud member of the grass-roots conservative movement I hereby re-declare independence from tyranny.
The tyranny of the progressive assault on American culture and history. Our nation has allowed the progressive agenda, through political correctness, the fallacy of multiculturalism
and the largesse of government to infiltrate every aspect of our society. It will not be allowed any more.
In the past year, constitutional conservatives have organized in
every county in the nation, including many groups right here in Volusia County and all of Central Florida, and our numbers are growing daily.
The destructive progressive tide
has been halted, as seen in recent elections and primaries. The sea change is coming in Florida's August primaries and November's general election. Pay close attention as the enemies
of liberty, foreign and domestic, begin to panic and accelerate their destructive plans, as they know time is not on their side any more. The light of freedom is now shining on the
darkness of their true agenda.
It is not about Democrat versus Republican any more. It is about liberty versus tyranny. The history of the world is tyranny; the history of
America is not. America is a radical departure from history, and we have proven the success of individual responsibility, personal-property rights and limited government, despite what
the progressives say. Our movement will not allow this experiment in self-government to perish at the hands of progressives and their allies.
True hope is knowing tomorrow
holds endless possibilities, even failure, because you are free. False hope is knowing tomorrow brings empty promises from an elitist government that purports to save us all from
ourselves. Re-declare your independence and stand up for our great American culture and history.
I am not racist; I am not violent. It is simply my duty to no longer be silent!

Volusia 9-12 Project: Restoring the republic
By MARIE HINCKLEY COMMUNITY VOICE
We are a group of patriotic Americans who have come together with a common goal. Like most in our country, as our attention focused on the
trillion dollar debt incurred during the latter part of the Bush administration, we began watching what exactly was going on with our government. It became readily apparent that our
government is out of control and that common sense and money sense are seriously lacking. Our goal is to restore our Republic to the Constitutional values upon which it was founded.
If you feel let down by your government, you are not alone. We are seeing the checks and balances of our Constitution now ignored. The Constitution was written with brilliance
and divine guidance over 200 years ago and has kept us in good stead throughout. It has provided us with freedoms unparalleled by other nations. Indeed, our country has been the
epitome of humanitarianism throughout the decades and the last bastion of freedom in the eyes of the world. Other countries are watching us with trepidation. If the United States
cannot succeed, how can they?
We are presently in the Middle East helping the fight for freedoms and a form of government that we, ourselves, are losing. We see this
administration and Congress ignoring the very rules of the Constitution, intervening with the Supreme Court's decisions and spending to the point of near bankruptcy. Bankruptcy will
completely devalue our dollar in the world and make us a third world country.
So, those with similar feelings have united. We work very hard in our attempt to influence change.
We write letters to members of Congress; we petition; we make phone calls; we march; and we protest. We welcome like-minded individuals to help in our goal of saving the America that
we know and love. We are nonpartisan, nonracial, and strive for good taste and moderation in our efforts. Political parties are not an issue; the question is never asked as to party
affiliation. We just want true Americans. Remember that our gifted forefathers warned us that we must remain vigilant of excess power, corruption and greed. It appears that only the
people are remembering to be watchdogs. Most of the media have failed in that regard. Therefore, it is up to us; "we the people" are the Fourth Estate of the checks and
balances. It is our duty.
It is time for all to get off the fence. Get on one side or the other, but join the fight you believe in. If you are of the mind that you want us to
remain Americans with all our freedoms intact, consider joining our group to help in our struggle. Staying on the fence is no longer an option. We have to look at ourselves, live with
ourselves and know that we fought as hard as we know how, imbued with the strong perseverance, dedication, patriotism and love of country as our soldiers at war. More than that, we
have to be able to look our children in the eye and let them know that we did our best to keep their country safe for them.
We belong to the 9-12 Project, which represents the
American spirit the day after Sept. 11 when we all came together, putting aside partisan politics, to support each other and our country in time of crisis. The 9-12 Project also
encompasses nine principles and twelve values, which can be found at www.Volusia912.org. |
posted Aug., 2009... A few weeks ago my husband and I were at a restaurant with a group from our church. During the dinner, one
of the group told us she had contacted her senators and representatives about her concerns regarding the "health care reform". I was impressed! This is something
anyone can and should do, and I too contacted my senators and representative with a list of concerns. Don't sit back and think you can't affect the actions in Washington--you
can! Every letter and call represents 20 others who may agree with you but don't do anything about it. My husband went a step further--he's made his own bumper
stickers which say "Don't Re-elect Anyone" and is on his second printing because he gives them away when asked. We need term limits! This would help rout out the
"congressman-for-life" attitude we have in this country. Let's get together and solve this national problem by voicing our concerns over and over. I'm doing it!

...posted May, 27 2009 What a profound short
little paragraph that says it all! "You cannot legislate the poor into
freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to
anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going
to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the
end of any nation . You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

activism, 9-12 project, i-caucus, Patrick Henry caucus This is a section from an email by Breanne Harbison with our friends to North at Jacksonville 9-12 group. http://912jax.com/ I took a
couple of days to think about this email and others that I've seen like it as of late. I have to say that I agree that we must replace the current elected officials in office quite
obviously. However, I feel that it is absolutely imperative that we become the squeaky wheel in the game, thereby letting the current elected officials know we're watching them every
time they make an attempt to destroy another thread of liberty. If we don't do this, if we just let them go on about their plan of enslaving us in their socialistic scheme little by
little, day by day, then by the time the elections roll around it will be too late and there will be no saving this country. Every fax, every letter, every email is making a
difference, whether it is immediately evident or not. They know we're here, they know we're growing, they are scared. The 912 movement alone has grown to over 1.2 million patriots
across the country in just three short months. We have accomplished something that no other organization has been able to accomplish to date, awakening the silent majority. We are now
partnering with I-Caucus and the Patrick Henry Caucus which will allow the movement as a whole to grow ten-fold. We are working in every aspect to find new candidates,
ones that will support our values, our principles and our Constitution. On that note, if anyone in the group would like to assist Jen Arismendi with the Florida 912candidates.org site
by researching, making phone calls, and sending postcards, please let me know. If you are truly concerned about finding the proper replacements for the goons currently holding office
then here is your chance to step up and help out. Many of the organizations that I have been in contact with as of late support the 912candidates.org campaign and it is also growing
nationwide. We are working on a state sovereignty resolution as we speak. Shortly we will have a petition for sovereignty that will encompass the true needs and concerns
of our state. I will be calling on all of you to do what you can to get it out and signed throughout our region. This will be done across the state of Florida as well. We only need
600,000 names on this petition to get it introduced into a special election and the meetings with the Representatives who can introduce this to the general assembly are already set.
If any of you should want to learn more about the Patrick Henry Caucus then please go to http://www.thepatrickhenrycaucus.org/default.aspx and you will learn why this
particular partnership will be so important to us here in the state of Florida. Also, I had a conference call with the regional director of I-Caucus this afternoon and they are very
excited to be working with the Florida 912 Project. You should all be receiving an invite to the I-Caucus group on Ning. I will also tell you that I-Caucus is searching for a Florida
district Rep, so if you're are interested in a leadership role then please let me know and I will get you the information. These are both non partisan organizations who will support
us in our fight for freedom. Please continue to send the letters and the emails to the elected officials, I can tell you first hand that it is having a profound effect.
Every single effort that we are making as concerned patriots across this nation is having an effect. So please don't get discouraged, you are all a part of one of the most important
movements this country has ever seen. It is because you took the time to care about your rights and the rights of your fellow Americans that we have a fighting chance at saving the
greatest nation on earth. I know that I don't give many updates on what we're doing behind the scenes at the moment, I have been very busy working on things for the
group. One of those things is our new website. Once it is completed we will move away from meetup and only use the new site. Part of this new site is a newsletter that will be sent
out to, not just members of the group, but anyone who wants to sign up for it. This will allow us to educate all who are interested. I am proud to announce Seth Loyd has agreed to
take on the role of Editor and Chief for the Newsletter. I will be sending out another very important email shortly regarding the website and newsletter and how you can get involved
in its creation. Sincerely, Breanne Harbison |

...posted May, 27 2009 545 PEOPLE - politicians vs us
By Charlie Reese, journalist for 49 years.
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. Have you ever wondered, if both
the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits? Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have
inflation and high taxes? You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of
Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy, the
Federal Reserve Bank does. One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally,
morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve
Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central
bank. I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to
coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to
accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes. Those
545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a
politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating
deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility
to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She
and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems
inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single
domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must
follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.
If the Army and Marines are in IRAQ, it's because they want them in IRAQ.
If they do not receive
social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not
let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they
give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the
economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible.
They and they alone, have the power.
They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.
Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

...posted June, 17 2009 To: ABC NEWS Today you just lost a viewer. Your adulation for
Obama would be ludicrous if it weren't so dangerous. I hold you responsible for the ignorance of those people who come home after work and switch on ABC news to find what's happening in
this country. You accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative about our president. Your journalism teachers must be rolling in their graves. Journalism in the United
States died this year. You do NOT present the facts. You'll be forever remembered, however, for helping Obama take this country straight into socialism and for being an Obama fan
first, news forecaster second, and lastly - an American citizen . I consider you a collaborator in the effort to destroy this country by becoming Obama's news station and not presenting the
truth of the news. Marie H. |
